Advanced Restoration with Dental Implant

At Smile Dental Implants in Surrey, we take pride in transforming smiles and improving our patients’ quality of life. One of our recent cases was a patient who sought help for several complex dental issues.

These issues included a failing upper left dental bridge and a broken dental implant crown on her upper left first molar, along with a deteriorating dental implant in the upper left second molar space. The previous dental bridge, which had been used to replace her upper left canine, was supported by her upper left lateral incisor and first premolar. Unfortunately, the first premolar had fractured and required extraction.

The positioning of her lower teeth was less than ideal, causing excessive pressure on her left side of the jaw during biting. This not only affected the ability to chew but also impacted the overall confidence in her smile.

To address these issues, we extracted the failing upper left second molar implant and the compromised upper left premolar. We then placed a new dental implant in the canine site. This area was allowed to heal for four months, during which we utilised a fixed brace to realign the lower teeth, alleviating the undue pressure on her bite.

Once the new dental implant integrated successfully with the bone, we crafted a custom dental bridge supported by the new dental implant in the canine site and the existing dental implant that had previously held a fractured dental crown. We then placed a new zirconia crown on the upper left lateral incisor, completing the dental restoration.

Our dental patient was overjoyed with her new smile and relieved to find she could now eat without the fear of her teeth breaking on the left side. The combination of aesthetic and functional improvement made a significant difference in her daily life.
