Meet Our Patient: A Journey from Dental Challenges to a Beautiful Smile
This wonderful gentleman sought our help due to persistent teeth clenching, a deep bite, and concerns about his smile. Over time, his upper incisors became mobile, and he was unhappy with the appearance of his teeth, compounded by missing teeth and gum disease.
Initial Assessment & Challenges:
- Deep bite causing excessive wear and mobility
- Teeth clenching and grinding habits
- Missing upper and lower teeth affecting function and aesthetics
- Poor gum health with advanced periodontal disease
- Previous smoking habit contributing to dental deterioration
Our Customised Treatment Plan
- Addressing Clenching & Protecting Teeth:
We started with Botox injections into the masseter muscles to help relax jaw clenching, reducing strain on the teeth. Custom nightguards were fabricated to prevent further damage during sleep.
- Restoring Function & Aesthetics:
Bite Correction: Using composite bonding, we raised the bite to correct the deep bite, improving both function and appearance.
Teeth Whitening: To enhance the overall smile aesthetics.
Extractions & Implants: The upper incisors and lower left central incisor with poor prognosis due to gum disease were carefully removed. These were replaced with implant-retained bridges at the corrected bite. Additionally, the upper left first premolar and lower right first molar were replaced with dental implants for optimal function and stability.
