Dental Implant Clinic in Worcester Park

Dental implants are commonly the best solution for missing teeth. If you find it embarrassing to smile due to missing teeth or gaps, or you struggle to eat or talk due to loose-fitting dentures, dental implants could be the solution. Dental implants can restore your smile and confidence because they look and feel like natural teeth and offer a permanent solution.

We are experts in replacing teeth and are pleased to offer our patients a range of dental implant systems. Each system has its own specific features and benefits so we can decide on the perfect course of action for your oral health. We will discuss the options available to you.

Our dental implant systems

We’re pleased to offer patients a variety of dental implant systems. These include: Megagen, Ankylos, Noble Biocare, Osstem Dio, and Bicon. Implants. As you might expect, each different dental implant system has its own specific set of features and benefits, which means we’re able to settle on the perfect course of action for your health and cosmetic considerations. As you can tell, we don’t believe in one approach fitting all at Smile Dental.

How do dental implants work?

A dental implant is constructed from pure grade 4 titanium. It is extremely biocompatible and the treated surface helps to promote bone growth.  At surgery the implant is precisely positioned like a screw into the jawbone. The implant fixture is left to integrate with the bone for 3 to 6 months after which a crown or bridge can be fitted on top to create a natural, life-like replacement. If the situation is ideal a temporary tooth can be attached to the implant immediately for a ‘same day tooth’. Again the permanent tooth would be made after 3 to 6 months.

Implants can safeguard your overall health. People can lose teeth for a number of reasons, including trauma, infection, or decay, but it is important to replace lost teeth because this can cause your bone to deteriorate, and it can change the shape of the face.

What are the benefits of dental implants?

If you are thinking about dental implants, we will probably have many questions that our team will be more than happy to answer.

  • Looks and behaves like a natural tooth, so they stay firmly in place
  • Prevents bone loss and supports the facial structure, so other teeth will not move around
  • Are long-lasting, easy to care for, and cost-effective
  • You can have restored confidence and will not be limited in what you eat

If you have wobbling dentures, you may find it hard to eat, chew, smile and laugh with ease. We can also provide dental implants to maximise retention of dentures.

How do I get dental implants?

We will begin by conducting a full assessment to establish whether dental implants are the right choice for you. We will look at your general health, oral health, and the density of your jawbone. If you have insufficient jawbone volume, it may be necessary to complete a grafting procedure to allow for successful implants.

During the procedure, which is completed under a local anaesthetic, the titanium posts are set into the jawbone, which will eventually bond with the bone over time. Once firmly in place, the replacement teeth can be fitted.

Going ahead with dental implants might seem like a daunting prospect, but our dedicated team is here to give you peace of mind. If our gentle and caring team cannot ease your concerns, we can provide sedation so you can complete your treatment quickly and effectively.

Remember, we have extensive experience in putting patients’ minds at ease. So much so that many dentists refer their more sceptical and nervous patients to us.
